Have you heard of the haute new line of vegan protein drinks-Svelte? I first encountered this chic line of tetra-packaged protein drinks at Expo East 2010. Like everything I approach that comes in a box, I grabbed the nearest one and flipped it over to see the ingredients and nutrition facts. I was pleasantly surprised to see a good amount of protein, without any isolated soy protein, low sugar, and 8g of fiber in every bottle.
(ps I LOVE that the serving size on their label is 1 container. no stupid 1 bottle=2.5 servings BS)
All flavors are sweetened with a blend of stevia and organic cane sugar-each bottle has 9 g of sugar. Each 16oz bottle has 260 calories and like icing on a cake it is also vegan, gluten free and has a low glycemic index.
But the impressive nutrition facts for a protein shake wouldn't make a difference if it tasted awful. Luckily that is not the case at all. Every one that I tried I found to be delicious. There are four flavors: Chai, Cappucino, Chocolate and French Vanilla, which really pops out in a market of only Chocolate and Vanilla drinks. Cappucino and Chocolate are definitely my favorites but all flavors are fantastic-not super sweet, with absolutely no chalky aftertaste. They are rich and creamy The line is only a year old but it is expanding like wildfire. It's sold in Boston in every Whole Foods, and I can also find it at Star/Shaws Market.

Ohhhh I would love to try these! Especially the french vanilla flavor. And maybe adding a little caramel or raspberry syrup to it sounds like a tasty protein shake treat.

I've tried all the flavors... SO yummy! I think that my favorite depends on my mood but the chocolate is really good (and I'm not even a chocolate lover) as is the spiced chai.
All of those flavours sound delicious! A good protein drink for post workout recovery is hard to find without containing crazy amounts of sugar and must be even harder to find if you are a vegan. I am very picky about the texture of my protein drinks so I would be interested to see what this one is like

These Rock! For some reason I always go for the Cappuccino flavor. They are great for on the go. The Shaw's near me sells them, as well as some Whole Foods. Tweet Tweet.
